Improving Yukon’s Permit Hunt Authorization system
How do I participate?
Please share your thoughts and perspectives through our online survey The survey will be open from November 23 to December 23, 2018.
In addition to the online survey, we have held in-person meetings with the Yukon Fish and Wildlife Management Board, the Yukon Fish and Game Association, the Yukon Wild Sheep Foundation, and the Association of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. Information gathered through the public survey will be considered alongside feedback gathered from these in-person meetings.
What is this engagement about?
We are engaging all Yukoners to share their thoughts on Yukon’s Permit Hunt Authorization system, which is used to award hunting permits in areas of Yukon where harvest opportunities are limited. We want to know what you value about the system, as well as those areas where improvements could be made.
How will my input make a difference?
Based on feedback received through the in-person meetings and the public survey, we will seek opportunities to improve our Permit Hunt Authorization system.
Where can I find related information?

You can also review the presentation that guided in-person discussions with stakeholder groups – this includes some information about how permit hunt lotteries are done in other Canadian jurisdictions.
Where can I find results?
We will post results of all the engagement activities (public survey and in-person meetings) once the process is complete.
