Review of the Yukon Fish and Wildlife Management Board
How do I participate?
What is this engagement about?
At the September 2018 Yukon Forum meeting, the decision was made to review the fish and wildlife management instruments established in Chapter 16 of Yukon First Nations’ Final Agreements. This review of the Yukon Fish and Wildlife Management Board and Yukon Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Trust is a result of this direction. Other instruments, such as the Salmon Subcommittee and Renewable Resources Councils, may be reviewed at a later date, pending outcomes of this first review.
How will my input make a difference?
The results of this questionnaire will serve as an input to the board Review.
The survey is specifically meant to target rights holders, stakeholders and interest groups that are knowledgeable about fish and wildlife management in the Yukon and who may not be interviewed as part of the review.
Where can I find related information?
The Board is described in Chapter 16 of the final agreements as “the primary instrument of fish and wildlife management in the Yukon.” The review will examine:
•The current external context in which the board is operating;
•The existing fish and wildlife management structure that is in place in Yukon and how the board links to other parties in this management structure;
•The mandate, activities and outputs of the board, including as they relate to the trust; and
•The overall effectiveness of the board – noting key strengths and any opportunities for improvement.

Where can I find results?
Once the review is complete, a final report will be made public.
