The Yukon Water Board plays a vital role in the stewardship and sustainable use of Yukon’s water resources. Its blend of legislated authority, citizen governance, commitment to public engagement, and adherence to procedural standards make it a cornerstone of Yukon’s regulatory and environmental landscape.
As the Yukon's sole regulator of water use and waste deposits into water, the Yukon Water Board is responsible for reviewing and regulating activities that may affect Yukon’s water resources.
To support this work, the Yukon Water Board uses Waterline, an online platform that allows users to:
- submit a water use licence application;
- comment on a water use licence application;
- track applications through the licensing process; or
- view water use licenses, reasons for decision and reports.
The Yukon Water Board is currently reviewing Waterline to better understand how well it meets the needs of applicants, stakeholders and the public.
Your input will help inform the next phase of the Waterline review and guide future improvements to the platform.
