The National Building Code (NBC) includes the energy tier. This is separate to the National Energy Code (NECB).
We can select an energy tier that we think new residential buildings in the Yukon must be built to. This will be reflected in how we adapt the National Building Code (NBC) to work in the Yukon.
According to our research and previous engagement, most homes and residential buildings currently being built in the Yukon meet or exceed Tier 3.
